1. What friendslop.wtf is
friendslop.wtf ("the site", "we", "us") is a community site where small teams list co-op games they made, players vote on them, and people post "crew calls" to find others to play with. Games are hosted elsewhere, on itch.io or Steam; we list and link to them, we do not host or distribute game files.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for online services in your country if that is higher, and old enough to agree to these terms. If you use the site on behalf of a studio or team, you confirm you are allowed to bind them.
3. Accounts
- You need an account to post games, post or join crew calls, report, and vote. Reading is open to everyone.
- Give us a real email address and keep it current; it is how we verify you and contact you about your posts.
- One person, one account. Extra accounts made to vote more than once, dodge a ban, or spam will be removed along with the original.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.
- Usernames are first come, first served, must be 4 to 32 characters, and must not impersonate someone else or be abusive. We may reclaim a username that breaks these rules or is inactive.
4. Posting games
- Post games you made, or that a friend made and is happy for you to post with credit. Do not post other people's work as yours.
- Links must go to an itch.io game page or a Steam store page. We do not accept file downloads from anywhere else.
- Submissions are reviewed before they appear. We may decline or remove a listing for any reason, including that it isn't a good fit, and we will usually tell you why.
- Cover images and descriptions must be yours to use and must follow section 6.
5. The crew board
- Crew calls, including any contact details you put in them, are public. Only share what you are comfortable with strangers seeing.
- Calls expire on their own. Delete yours when you are full.
- A first call from a new account may be held briefly before it is shown, to slow down spam.
- People who join or contact you through a crew call are not vetted by us. Use your judgement, especially with links.
- Reports are for spam, scams, harassment, and calls that aren't real. Enough reports hide a call automatically; false reports made to silence someone count as abuse.
6. Conduct
Don't use the site to:
- harass, threaten, or demean anyone, or post hateful content;
- post anything illegal, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, or privacy;
- distribute malware, phishing links, or scams, on the site or through links you post;
- manipulate votes, reports, or rankings, whether with extra accounts, automation, or by asking others to do so;
- scrape, overload, or interfere with the site, or try to access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- advertise unrelated products or services.
We can remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, at our discretion, with or without notice. If you disagree with a decision, email us and we will look again.
7. Your content and our licence to show it
You keep ownership of what you post. So that the site can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and reproduce your content on friendslop.wtf and in things we make to promote the site and the games on it, such as social media posts and a newsletter. This licence ends for a piece of content when you delete it, except where it has already been included in something we published or where we have to keep a copy for legal or moderation reasons.
You confirm you have the rights needed to post what you post.
8. Third-party services
Games link to itch.io and Steam. Sign-in can use Google or Discord. Crew calls may link to Discord or other services. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them or for what happens on them.
9. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or if we shut the site down. Sections 7, 10, 11, and 12 survive.
10. No warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". It is a small project; it will have bugs, downtime, and rough edges. We make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that listings are accurate, or that any game is safe, fun, or working.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or anything linked from it. Our total liability to you for anything related to the site is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last twelve months (currently nothing) and 20 US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as they can.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell registered users by email or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of friendslop.wtf is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to something else.
